About This Whiskey
Woodford Reserve's Kentucky Straight Malt Whiskey is a malt whiskey made the Kentucky way: at least 51% malted barley, aged in new charred oak.
Scotch malts use 100% malted barley and used casks.
Tasting Profile
- Nose: Soft nuts, light caramel and milk chocolate over apple and dried fruit, with mint and toasted oak.
- Palate: Dark chocolate, caramel-coated nuts and brown spice, brightened by fruit and toasted coconut.
- Finish: Nutty, with subtly sweet chocolate malt.
Serving & Food
Try it neat, side by side with the bourbon, to see what the malt changes. Pair with hazelnut cake or salted peanuts.

About the Distillery
Brown-Forman, which first owned the site from 1941, bought the old distillery near Versailles back in 1993 and launched Woodford Reserve in 1996. The distillery took the Woodford Reserve name in 2004.
