Old Forester Statesman 750mL

Old Forester Statesman is a limited release from Brown-Forman's Old Forester bourbon range, originally created to mark the release of "The King's Man" film. It uses Old Forester's higher-rye mashbill finished in a way that gives it a more intense, spice-driven character than the standard bourbon.

Old Forester was introduced in 1870 by George Garvin Brown, a former pharmaceutical salesman who co-founded the company that became Brown-Forman; the Brown family still controls more than 70% of the voting shares of the publicly traded parent company. Old Forester is recognised as America's first bottled bourbon, sold in sealed glass bottles since 1870 to guard against adulteration. Brown-Forman received one of only six government licences to produce whiskey for medicinal purposes during Prohibition from 1920 to 1933. Old Forester is produced under the supervision of Master Distiller Chris Morris at the Brown-Forman distillery in Shively, Kentucky, using a mashbill of 72% corn, 18% rye and 10% malted barley, the same mashbill used for Woodford Reserve. The Statesman expression was developed as a limited release tied to the "Kingsman" film franchise.
