Macallan Edition No. 3 is part of The Macallan’s collectible Edition series, created to highlight aroma and cask selection in a now-discontinued annual release shaped around perfume and flavour structure.
From the Producer
Launched in 2017, Edition No. 3 paired master distiller Bob Dalgarno with luxury perfumer Roja Dove to build a whisky around aroma rather than cask taste alone. It was crafted from a high proportion of smaller oak casks to increase spirit-to-wood contact, combining a heavier Tevasa-cask base with fresh-cut oak and citrus notes from Hudosa casks, vanilla and green-apple character from bourbon casks, and floral, vanilla notes from European and American oak refill casks. It was bottled at 48.3% ABV with an original RRP of US$95.

- Nose: Vanilla, citrus peel, ginger, florals, oak spice and sweet dried fruit.
- Palate: Medium-bodied and aromatic, with orange, malt, vanilla, baking spice and clean sherry oak.
- Finish: Balanced and warming, with spice, citrus and gentle oak sweetness.
