Macallan Edition No. 2 is the second release in The Macallan's Edition series, created with the Roca brothers of El Celler de Can Roca and now sought after as a discontinued collectible within the modern Macallan line-up.

Launched in 2016, Edition No. 2 was created by then master whisky maker Bob Dalgarno alongside the Roca brothers — Joan, Josep and Jordi — co-founders of restaurant El Celler de Can Roca. Each brother, plus Dalgarno, hand-selected a cask style from four Spanish bodegas (Vasyma, Diego Martin, Jose Miguel Martin and Tevasa) to reflect an aspect of their personality: European oak Tevasa casks for rich dried fruit, American and European Diego Martin casks for green wood and toffee, European oak Jose Miguel Martin casks for allspice and ginger, and American oak Vasyma butts and puncheons for citrus and light vanilla. The whisky blends seven cask-driven components into a single release.

Tasting Profile

• Nose: Tropical fruit, orange peel, vanilla, black pepper, liquorice and polished oak.
• Palate: Rounded and aromatic, with citrus, dried fruit, sweet malt and sherry-led spice built around the layered cask recipe of the Edition project.
• Finish: Medium-long, peppery and polished, with fruit sweetness and lingering oak spice.
