About This Whisky
Edition No. 2 is the second release in The Macallan's annual Edition series, made in 2016 by then Master Whisky Maker Bob Dalgarno with the three Roca brothers of El Celler de Can Roca in Girona.
Each brother chose casks to suit his own style, and Dalgarno added Tevasa casks for dried fruit.
Tasting Profile
- Nose: Treacle, ginger, toffee apples and rich fruits.
- Palate: Warm and spicy, with black pepper, cloves, chocolate and brown sugar, then liquorice.
- Finish: Full, slow and warm, with a viscous texture.
Serving & Food
A splash of water softens the pepper and lets the fruit through.

How strong is it? 48.2%.
What food suits it? Jamón ibérico, Manchego with quince paste or crema catalana.

Alexander Reid took out a licence at Easter Elchies, near Craigellachie, in 1824, and Edrington has owned The Macallan since 1999. The Edition series, No. 1 to No. 6, printed the cask suppliers, oak types and proportions on each pack.
