The Macallan 72 Year Old Genesis in Lalique is an extraordinary collector’s Scotch, pairing one of The Macallan’s oldest age statements with a sculptural Lalique crystal presentation.

Released in 2018 to mark the opening of The Macallan’s new £140m distillery and visitor centre in Speyside, this expression was distilled in the 1940s and described by then master distiller Nick Savage as the oldest whisky The Macallan had ever bottled. Lalique designed the decanter and presentation case, taking the crystal's curvature from the new distillery's roofline and the case footprint from the circular layout of the stillhouses. The release was limited to 600 decanters worldwide, rolled out globally from August 2018 at an original price of US$60,000 per 700ml.
