The Macallan's Sherry Oak range is built around whisky matured in hand-crafted sherry-seasoned oak casks sourced from Jerez, Spain. This 40 Year Old is a Duty Free Exclusive 2005 release, bottled at 43% ABV after a minimum of forty years in those casks, with production capped at just 450 individually numbered bottles for the travel retail market. It stands as a benchmark of the distillery's long-aged, sherry-oak Speyside house style, owned today by the Edrington Group and drawn from the Easter Elchies estate near Craigellachie.
