About This Whisky
The independent bottler East Asia Whisky Company took this single cask of Macallan, distilled in June 1988, and finished it in Japanese mizunara oak.
Before that it spent 29 years in an ex-bourbon cask, lighter and more vanilla-led than the sherried house style.
Tasting Profile
- Nose: Honey, vanilla and orchard fruit, then sandalwood and incense.
- Palate: Layered and oily, with dried apricot and citrus peel, turning spicy and fragrant.
- Finish: Aromatic and lingering, with temple incense, soft oak and orange zest.
Serving & Food
Serve in a tulip glass at room temperature, with fatty tuna sashimi or wagyu nigiri.
