About This Whisky
The Macallan 15 Years Old Double Cask brings together two kinds of sherry-seasoned oak, American and European, for a sweeter, softer take on the house style.
The American oak brings vanilla, butterscotch and a creamier texture, while the European casks add spice and dried fruit.
Tasting Profile
- Nose: Butterscotch, baked apple and vanilla, with orange zest and a little cinnamon.
- Palate: Smooth and rounded, with toffee, dried fruit, ginger and sweet oak.
- Finish: Medium-long, with warm spice and a gentle fruit sweetness.
Serving & Food
Best neat and slightly cool, in a short stemmed glass; a drop of water lifts the vanilla and the orange. At the table it suits honey-glazed char siu, crème brûlée, or aged cheddar with apple slices.
