About This Whisky
Longrow Peated is a vatting of bourbon and sherry casks. The bourbon side keeps the smoke and malt clear, and the sherry adds weight and a little dried fruit. Without an age statement, the blenders can balance younger, punchier casks against older ones. Strength is 46%, and like the rest of the range it goes into the bottle unfiltered and uncoloured.

- Nose: Kiln smoke and damp bonfire, with malt, lemon peel and earthy, coastal notes.
- Palate: Chewy and savoury, with peat, barley sugar, orchard fruit and a dry, salty edge.
- Finish: Long and smoky, with ash, black pepper and salted malt.

About the Distillery
Longrow began as an experiment. In 1973 Springbank distilled a heavily peated, oily spirit to supply a sturdy component for a blend being put together at the time, and it proved good enough to stand on its own. The first Longrow single malt reached the market in the 1980s as a 1973 vintage, followed by aged releases at 14, 16 and 21 years. Through the 1990s it became a regular part of the distillery's production calendar. In 2010 a no-age-statement bottling called CV arrived, and that is the forerunner of today's Peated.
