From the Producer
Longrow takes its name from a Campbeltown distillery that closed in 1896, and the modern spirit is a separate heavily peated make produced by J. & A. Mitchell & Co. at Springbank, first distilled there in 1973 as a trial to see whether a strongly peated malt could be made in Campbeltown. Unlike Springbank, which is distilled two and a half times, Longrow is distilled twice, and its barley is dried over peat smoke in the distillery's own floor maltings. It is matured in warehouses on the Campbeltown shore and bottled on site without chill-filtration or added colour. This 21-year-old carries the 2022 release reference and is bottled at 46% ABV.
