Longrow 18 Year Private Cask #178 for Magnus Fagerstrom is a specialist Campbeltown bottling distilled in 1990 and bottled from refill bourbon hogshead #178. Its private-cask provenance and peated Longrow profile make it especially appealing to Springbank-family collectors.
From the Producer
Longrow is Springbank's heavily peated malt - double distilled, using barley dried entirely over peat smoke, named after a neighbouring Campbeltown distillery that closed in 1896. It is made at Springbank on the same floor-malted, wholly on-site basis as everything else the Mitchell family produces. Private casks were sold to individuals who chose their own bottling date, which is why releases like this one never entered normal trade distribution.
Tasting Profile
- Nose: peat smoke, citrus oil, malt, coastal air and old cask spice
- Palate: dense Campbeltown malt with smoked cereal, lemon, brine and dried-fruit depth
- Finish: long, smoky, savoury and mineral
Best For
A specialist Longrow private cask for Springbank-family collectors and drinkers who enjoy peated Campbeltown whisky.
