About This Wine
The Liger-Belair family has owned La Romanée, a grand cru monopole in Vosne-Romanée, since the 1820s, and this is the domaine's 2007.
Tasting Profile
- Nose: Red cherry and wild strawberry with rose petal, forest floor and a touch of cinnamon.
- Palate: Fine-boned and silky, with fresh acidity, delicate red fruit and a savoury, mineral middle.
- Finish: Medium in length, floral and a little earthy, with soft, resolved tannin.
Serving & Food
Plan to open this within the next few years. Roast quail, sautéed chanterelles and slow-cooked veal shoulder all flatter the wine.
Good to Know
When should I drink it? Soon. It's mature and delicate.
What was 2007 like? Damp and grey, giving pale, perfumed reds.

About the Domaine
Comte Louis-Michel Liger-Belair told his parents at eight that he would one day live in Vosne, and in 2000 he took over the family domaine. The family has owned the Château de Vosne-Romanée since 1815.
