Les Perrières is the Guinaudeau family's red from the limestone plateau near Fronsac, made from vines propagated from Château Lafleur. This is the 2019, only the second vintage, in magnum.
About This Wine
The 2019 blend is roughly 59% Cabernet Franc and 41% Merlot, from vines that were still very young at the time. Even so, the limestone keeps it fresh in a warm year, with fine, chalky tannin. Magnums age more slowly than standard bottles, which suits a wine that is still gaining depth.
Tasting Profile
- Nose: Raspberry, black cherry and violet, with rose petal, warm spice and a slatey mineral note.
- Palate: Medium to full-bodied, juicy and precise, with very fine tannin and a cool, stony freshness.
- Finish: Saline and persistent, the fruit drawn out by chalky grip.
Serving & Food
A magnum pours for eight to ten at the table. Open it now with an hour or two in a decanter, or keep it well into the 2030s. Serve at around 16°C. Rosemary-roast lamb shoulder, grilled quail or aged Manchego all sit well with it.
How to Enjoy
Dinner parties, and Lafleur followers curious to taste the family style from limestone soil in a more approachable form.

About the Château
The Guinaudeaus are best known for Château Lafleur in Pomerol, run by Jacques and Sylvie with their son Baptiste and his wife Julie. Julie and Baptiste founded Les Perrières in 2018 to see how Lafleur's Bouchet (Cabernet Franc) and Merlot would behave on very different ground: the starfish limestone of the Meyney plateau, close to the family's Château Grand Village. The vines were planted from massal selections taken at Lafleur, so the plant material matches the Pomerol vineyard even though the soil does not. The wine is labelled Bordeaux Supérieur, and from the 2025 harvest the family has moved all its wines to the Vin de France category.
