From the Producer
Lalou Bize-Leroy bought Domaine Charles Noellat in 1988 and converted the vineyards to biodynamics immediately, before almost anyone else in Burgundy. What separates Leroy is yield: severe pruning and green harvesting cut crop levels to a fraction of what neighbouring Grand Cru holdings take, producing tiny quantities of exceptionally concentrated wine. Fruit is worked with whole bunches and bottled without fining or filtration.
