Domaine Leroy, founded in 1988 by Lalou Bize-Leroy after she stepped back from the co-direction of Domaine de la Romanée-Conti, farms biodynamically across its holdings and produces wines only in vintages it considers exceptional. Richebourg is a Grand Cru climat of Vosne-Romanée on the Côte de Nuits, bordering Romanée-Saint-Vivant and La Romanée; in the domaine's hands it is bottled at very low yields and aged in new French oak, with the rigorous fruit selection that defines the Leroy style. The 2009 vintage on the Côte de Nuits produced ripe, structured Pinot Noirs with the concentration for long ageing.
