Laphroaig 10 Year is the core Islay single malt that defines the distillery's medicinal, coastal and peat-driven style. It remains the essential bottle for customers who want the benchmark Laphroaig profile before moving into cask-strength or cask-finished variations.
From the Producer
Laphroaig distillery was established in 1815 by Donald and Alexander Johnston at Port Ellen on Islay, and is today owned by Suntory Global Spirits. The distillery has long positioned its whisky as the most richly flavoured of all Scotch whiskies, a house style built on its own floor maltings and peat cut from the surrounding Islay bogs. The 10 Year is Laphroaig's standard-bearing expression, the benchmark against which its cask-strength and cask-finished variants are measured.
Tasting Profile
- Nose: Peat smoke, seaweed scent, medicinal notes and a hint of sweetness.
- Palate: Surprising sweetness with hints of salt and layered peatiness.
- Finish: Long and lingering, with a sweet seaweed afterglow.
Best For
Classic Islay tasting flights, peat-first gifting and drinkers who want a recognisable smoky single malt with strong distillery identity.
