About This Whisky
Laphroaig 10 Year Old is the south coast of Islay in its plainest form: heavy peat smoke, iodine and brine carried on a sweet, oily malt.
The 10 Year Old spends a full decade in ex-bourbon barrels, where the charred American oak lays vanilla and a rounded sweetness under the smoke.
Tasting Profile
- Nose: Peat smoke and iodine up front, then wet seaweed, tarry rope and a soft vanilla sweetness.
- Palate: Full and oily, with salted smoke, sweet malt, a little liquorice and an unexpected sweetness mid-palate.
- Finish: Long and dry, with lingering embers, sea salt and a last lick of vanilla.
Serving & Food
Serve at cellar temperature in a tulip glass, beside grilled oysters, smoked mackerel pâté on toast, or a wedge of strong blue cheese.

Why 43%? The 750mL bottling is at 43% rather than Europe's 40%.
