Lagavulin 12 Year Special Release 2020 is a limited annual Diageo Special Release bottling of Islay single malt Scotch whisky from Lagavulin Distillery, drawn from refill American oak casks. It is the more cask-forward counterpart to Lagavulin's standard 16 Year, and the 2020 edition carries the higher strength typical of the annual series.

Lagavulin Distillery sits on the southern shore of the Islay village of Port Ellen and has been one of Islay's most recognised single malt producers since its founding in 1816. Lagavulin became part of Diageo's predecessor companies and is today a flagship Islay malt in the Diageo portfolio. The annual Special Releases series, run by Diageo, gathers limited cask-driven editions of the company's distilleries, and the Lagavulin 12 Year entry typically draws on refill American oak casks to highlight the distillery's peat and maritime character at higher strength.
