Château La Mission Haut-Brion 2009 is a major Pessac-Léognan from a warm, highly regarded Bordeaux vintage, offering the estate's hallmark combination of dark fruit, gravelly depth and polished structure.

From the Producer

Chateau La Mission Haut-Brion sits in Talence, directly across the road from Chateau Haut-Brion, and both estates are owned by Domaine Clarence Dillon, the family holding led today by Prince Robert of Luxembourg. The vineyard is one of the oldest continuously worked sites in Bordeaux, planted on the deep gravel croupes of Pessac-Leognan, and the estate is a Cru Classe de Graves for red wine. 2009 was a warm, dry growing season across the Left Bank that produced ripe, concentrated wines with high natural alcohol and generous tannin, and La Mission is known for carrying that ripeness alongside the smoky, gravelly signature of its terroir.

Tasting Profile

  • Nose: Blackcurrant, plum, tobacco, graphite, cedar and warm earth.
  • Palate: Full and velvety, with dark fruit, fine tannin, smoky mineral notes and polished oak.
  • Finish: Long, rich and elegant, with savoury cassis and tobacco length.

Best For

Bordeaux collectors, cellar ageing and classic meat-led dining where mature Graves pedigree matters.
