Karuizawa 1964 Cask #3603, bottled at 48 years old, comes from a Japanese distillery that closed in 2000 and no longer exists. This is the 50mL miniature format, which is how most collectors get access to a cask of this age at all.
From the Producer
Karuizawa distilled on the slopes of Mount Asama using Golden Promise barley and heavily sherried Spanish oak, stopped production in 2000 and never restarted. Cask #3603 was filled in 1964 and left alone for 48 years, by which point the remaining stock was being bottled cask by cask rather than blended away. Nothing further will ever come out of it.
Best For
Karuizawa collectors, closed-distillery cabinets and buyers who want a documented single cask in a format that can realistically be opened.
