Jacques Selosse is a Récoltant-Manipulant grower domaine based in Avize in the Côte des Blancs, founded by Jacques Selosse and taken over by his son Anselme Selosse in 1980. Anselme is widely credited with redefining oxidative, terroir-led grower Champagne, with fermentation and aging in used barriques, very low sulfur use, and an emphasis on single-vineyard, vintage-dated wines over the dosage targets of the larger houses. Initial is the domaine's Blanc de Blancs entry point, drawn from Chardonnay across the Côte des Blancs and the Marne, and aged on lees in barrel before bottling with a low dosage. The 2020 vintage gives the cuvée its ripe-fruit generosity, framed by the Avize chalk and the oxidative élevage.
