Ichiro's Malt is the principal brand of Venture Whisky Ltd., the family company founded by Ichiro Akuto. The Akuto family ran the now-closed Hanyu Distillery in Saitama Prefecture, and Ichiro Akuto later founded Chichibu Distillery in 2007 — with first production in 2008 — as a small-pot-still operation focused on single-cask and small-batch releases. Under the Ichiro's Malt label, Venture Whisky bottles both single malts from Chichibu and blended expressions that draw on malt and grain whisky sourced from around the world, all finished and bottled in Japan. Anniversary editions linked to the Kiyosato Field Ballet sit inside this blended Malt & Grain line.
