Ichiro's Malt is the label of Venture Whisky, founded by Ichiro Akuto after he rescued the last casks of the closed Hanyu distillery and built Chichibu in Saitama in 2008. Malt & Grain is the blended side of the range, combining Chichibu and Hanyu malt with selected whiskies from Scotland, Ireland, the United States and Canada, married and bottled in Chichibu. Alongside the standard releases the company bottles occasional single casks for individual accounts. This one was drawn from cask #12133 and bottled for Mandarin Oriental Tokyo in 2021, in a quantity small enough that public cask records for it remain thin.
