About This Whisky
Hibiki 30 Year Old in its Kacho Fugetsu design bottle, a decorated edition made for duty-free shops.
The Kacho Fugetsu 30 uses a 30-faceted crystal decanter with a Japanese landscape rendered on the glass, and special finishing on the Hibiki name and the 30 mark.
Tasting Profile
- Nose: Dark raisin, sandalwood and old leather, with a soft floral note.
- Palate: Silky and deep, with prune, dark chocolate, mizunara spice and toffee.
- Finish: Very long and elegant, drifting into cedar and dried fruit.
Serving & Food
Serve neat at room temperature in a narrow-rimmed tasting glass; water is unnecessary. Keep food light and slow: a few slices of aged Manchego, hojicha truffles, or walnuts toasted with honey.

How rare is it? About 1,000 bottles a year, sold through duty-free.

About the Distillery
Aged blends depend on choices made decades earlier. When demand for Japanese whisky outgrew supply, Suntory could not stretch its old stocks, and from September 2018 it suspended sales of Hibiki 17.
