Hibiki 30 Year Aritayaki Edition Ceramic Decanter is a rare presentation of one of Suntory’s most awarded aged blends, packaged in a collectible ceramic vessel intended as much for display as for drinking. It sits in the top tier of Japanese whisky collecting, where edition-specific presentation details materially affect desirability.
From the Producer
This decanter is finished in Arita-yaki (有田焼), Japan's earliest porcelain tradition, produced since the 17th century around the town of Arita in the former Hizen Province of Kyushu. Arita kilns are historically associated with fine blue-and-white porcelain and, in wares carrying added overglaze colour, with Imari-style decoration. Suntory introduced Hibiki 30 Year in 1997 as the line's oldest age-stated expression, blending malt and grain whiskies matured at the Yamazaki, Hakushu and Chita distilleries. Suntory has periodically commissioned Japanese ceramic artists to create limited decanters for its oldest Hibiki expressions, pairing the whisky's blending heritage with regional Japanese craft.
