About This Whisky
The whisky is the regular Hibiki 21 Year Old blend: malt and grain whiskies aged at least 21 years, built around Yamazaki malt from white oak, sherry and mizunara casks. Only the decoration changes. On this edition Mount Fuji rises above pine, bamboo and plum, a trio linked with good fortune, finished in restrained tones with gold highlights. It was intended for international travellers rather than domestic shops.

About the Distillery
Every standard Hibiki bottle has 24 facets, one for each of the 24 seasonal divisions, or sekki, of the old Japanese calendar. The shape is meant to tie the whisky to nature and to the slow turning of the year.
The Kacho Fugetsu series goes a step further. The phrase means 'flower, bird, wind, moon', a classical way of describing the beauty of the natural world. Suntory applied designs in that spirit directly to the glass for duty-free editions of the 12, 17, 21 and 30 Year Old, each at 43% and 700mL.
