About This Whisky
A square Kutani porcelain decanter, painted in the Yoshidaya manner with pine, bamboo and plum, holds this Hibiki 21 Year Old.
Tasting Profile
- Nose: Dried cherry, orange blossom and honeyed oak.
- Palate: Plush and even, with raisin, cocoa, soft vanilla and a warming thread of wood spice.
- Finish: Lingering and fragrant, with sandalwood and a light bittersweet edge.
Serving & Food
If you open it, pour slowly, because porcelain hides the level. Jibuni duck stew from Kanazawa or roasted chestnuts suit it.

About the Distillery
Shinjiro Torii founded Suntory in Osaka in 1899, and Hibiki 21 Year Old followed in 1994. Suntory's Special Bottle Collection dresses it in porcelain, and this decanter follows the Yoshidaya style of Kutani ware from Ishikawa Prefecture.
