Hibiki 17 Year was one of the brand's original two age-stated releases when Suntory launched Hibiki in 1989, alongside the 21 Year. The blend combines malt and grain whiskies from Suntory's Yamazaki, Hakushu and Chita distilleries, matured across several cask types before blending. Reports of the expression's discontinuation began in 2018, and it was no longer listed on Suntory's official range by 2024, making the 17 Year a closed, non-renewable release. This 50mL miniature carries the same blend in a small-format bottle suited to tasting or display.
