Heaven Hill 27 Year Barrel Proof is an extra-aged Kentucky straight bourbon from Heaven Hill Distillery, drawn from one of the distillery's oldest special stocks and bottled at barrel proof for collectors and long-time bourbon drinkers.

Heaven Hill Distilleries was founded in Bardstown, Kentucky in 1935 by the Shapira family, and is today one of the largest independent family-owned spirits producers in the United States, with brands including Evan Williams, Elijah Craig, Larceny and the Parker heritage label. Heaven Hill lost much of its bourbon stock, along with its main Bernheim distillery in Louisville, in a 1996 fire, which has made pre-fire extra-aged bourbon releases such as this one increasingly scarce on the secondary market.
Tasting Notes
- Nose: Toasted nuts, aged oak and orange oil.
- Palate: Deep and structured, with butterscotch, black tea, leather and mature spice.
- Finish: Long and lingering, with toasted oak and complex peppery warmth.
