Hazelburn 1999 Private Sherry Cask #56 Scottish Pub & Bar is a single-cask Campbeltown single malt from Hazelburn, the triple-distilled, unpeated Springbank-family label, distilled in 1999 and bottled for the Scottish Pub & Bar private cask programme.
From the Producer
Hazelburn is one of the three single malts produced at Springbank Distillery in Campbeltown, distinguished from the flagship Springbank and the peated Longrow by being triple-distilled and unpeated. Hazelburn was re-launched by the Mitchell family at Springbank in 2005, after a long dormancy, and small parcels are periodically released as single-cask expressions to private bottlers and trade accounts. Cask #56 was filled with Hazelburn new-make spirit in 1999 and matured in a single sherry cask until bottling.
Tasting Notes
- Nose: Dried fruit, oak, nuttiness and gentle coastal lift
- Palate: Rich and oily, with sherry sweetness, malt, spice and a dry, structured core
- Finish: Long and warming, with lingering oak and savoury depth
