Hazelburn is the unpeated, triple-distilled malt made by J. & A. Mitchell & Co. at Springbank in Campbeltown, and it borrows the name of a Campbeltown distillery that closed in the 1920s. Production of the modern Hazelburn began in 1997 and the first bottling was released as an 8-year-old, making it the youngest of the three makes produced at the site. The barley is floor-malted at the distillery with no peat in the kiln, the spirit passes through the stills three times rather than Springbank's two and a half, and the whisky is matured and bottled on site without chill-filtration or added colour. This 13-year-old is a limited edition carrying the 2021 reference, bottled at 43% ABV.
