About This Whisky
Hakushu Sherry Cask 2013 is a limited single malt released in Japan in February 2013, the second edition of Suntory's Hakushu sherry series.
The first edition came out in 2012.
Tasting Profile
- Nose: Raisin, walnut, polished leather and orange peel, with mint and pine underneath.
- Palate: Lighter than its dark colour, with dried fig, clove, a peppery edge and malt sweetness.
- Finish: Dry and long, with bitter orange, oak spice and faint smoke.
Serving & Food
Drink it neat from a Glencairn, with a drop or two of water at most. Try jamón ibérico or Manchego with membrillo.
Good to Know
How rare is it? 3,000 bottles, at 48%.
How does it differ from standard Hakushu? It swaps the green, herbal style for dried fruit and spice.
