Hakushu Distillery was built in 1973 by House of Suntory in the forests at the foot of Mt. Kaikomagatake, at one of the highest elevations of any malt-whisky site in the world. Water for production is drawn from the surrounding mountains, and the air, forest botanicals and cooler climate shape the distillery’s herbal, minty and gently smoky house character. The 25 Year Old is the distillery’s flagship age statement and is built around a long-aged blend of malt whiskies, with the Hospitality / Japan Airport limited edition presented as a travel-retail release for collectors who specifically seek the airport channel.
