The Glenlivet is a Speyside single malt produced near Ballindalloch in Moray, on the edge of the Cairngorms. George Smith took out the first licence in the glen in 1824, at a time when most of his neighbours were still distilling illegally, and the resulting whisky did much to define the modern Speyside style: fruity, gently sweet and largely matured in American oak, with sherry wood used alongside it. The distillery has been part of Pernod Ricard since the group acquired Chivas Brothers in 2001. The Cellar Collection is a series of vintage-dated releases drawn from older casks held back in the distillery's own warehouses, each tied to a single distillation year. This bottling carries the 1967 vintage and comes in the 750mL format prepared for international markets.
