Domaine du Comte Liger-Belair traces its Vosne-Romanée roots to 1815, when Napoleonic general Louis Liger-Belair acquired the Château de Vosne; the family had already been Burgundy wine merchants since 1720. Comte Louis-Michel Liger-Belair re-founded the modern domaine in 2000, reclaiming family parcels including long-held sites such as Aux Reignots in Vosne-Romanée, and farms them biodynamically alongside the celebrated La Romanée monopole.
