Liger Belair Vosne Romanée Aux Brûlées 2016 Magnum is a 1.5L magnum of Domaine du Comte Liger-Belair’s Aux Brûlées, a 1er Cru climat that sits directly below the grand cru Richebourg in Vosne-Romanée, delivered in its Original Wooden Case.
From the Producer
Domaine du Comte Liger-Belair was reconstituted in 2000 by Count Louis-Michel Liger-Belair, the seventh generation of a family whose domaine was dispersed during the twentieth century. Aux Brûlées is one of the domaine’s signature 1er Cru holdings — a steep, stony parcel producing structured, age-worthy Vosne wines farmed with lutte raisonnée, horse-drawn ploughing and whole-bunch fermentation in open wooden vats. Tasting Notes
Nose — black cherry, kirsch, crushed violet and lifted Vosne spice with a smoky, stony undertone.
Palate — dense, layered Pinot Noir with ripe tannin, dark fruit, hints of liquorice and the gravelly minerality typical of Aux Brûlées.
Finish — long, savoury and very persistent, with the magnum format adding extra length and ageing potential.
Best For
Best for serious Burgundy cellars, milestone gifting, and fine-dining service with roasted lamb, venison, truffle or aged hard cheeses.
