Les Perrieres de Lafleur 2019 1.5L is the second wine of Château Lafleur, the Guinaudeau family's Pomerol estate, presented in magnum format from the 2019 vintage.

From the Producer

Château Lafleur is a Pomerol estate on the right bank of the Gironde, run by Jacques and Sylvie Guinaudeau and today by their children Baptiste and Julie. The original Lafleur vineyard sits on the gravel-and-clay terrace next to Château Pétrus, and the grand vin is a roughly equal blend of Merlot and Cabernet Franc from old vines. Les Perrières de Lafleur is the estate's second wine, introduced from the 2017 vintage, sourced principally from the young vines of the Lafleur vineyard and from parcels the family farms on adjacent Right Bank terroirs. The 2019 vintage is from a generous, ripe Bordeaux year, and the magnum format favours longer bottle ageing than the standard 750mL.

Tasting Notes

• Nose: Red berry, spice and forest-floor nuance characteristic of fine Côte de Nuits / Côte de Beaune Pinot Noir or, for Bordeaux expressions, dark cassis and cedar.
• Palate: Layered fruit, fine tannin and a sustained, mineral finish typical of the producer and appellation.
• Finish: Long, structured and ageworthy in the producer's house style.
