Glenmorangie Barbaresco Wine Cask Finish appears to be part of Glenmorangie’s high-end wine cask explorations, pairing mature Highland single malt with finishing in casks associated with Barbaresco. Public references indicate a very limited, older whisky release.
From the Producer
Glenmorangie, based in Tain on the Dornoch Firth, matures its Highland single malt in the tallest stills in Scotland and is known for extended, experimental wood finishes developed under director of whisky creation Dr Bill Lumsden. Barbaresco is a Piedmontese red wine made from the Nebbiolo grape, and finishing whisky in casks previously used for it is part of Glenmorangie's wider programme of Private Edition and Legend collection wine-cask releases, which pair mature Highland spirit with the tannin and red-fruit character of fine European red wine casks.

- Nose: Dried red berries, vanilla cream, polished oak and soft spice.
