About the Distillery
Shinjiro Torii founded Suntory in Osaka in 1899, and it opened Hakushu in 1973 in the forests of Hokuto, Yamanashi, at around 700 metres. In 2018 a shortage of aged stock made Suntory pause Hakushu 12 in Japan.
