Singleton 40 Year is an ultra-aged single malt associated with The Singleton of Glen Ord and luxury travel-retail style releases. It offers extended maturation and rich, mature fruit character.
From the Producer
Glen Ord distillery in the Scottish Highlands has been producing single malt since 1838, when it was founded on land owned by the MacKenzies of Ord under the name Ord Distillery Company. The Singleton of Glen Ord is the brand under which Diageo releases the distillery's single malt, historically sold mainly for export to Southeast Asia. Diageo's ultra-aged Singleton expressions such as this 40 Year are released in very limited numbers as part of the company's prestige travel-retail and specialist ranges, prized for the extended cask maturation that concentrates the distillery's honeyed, orchard-fruit house style into something denser and more complex than the core-range bottlings.
