Signatory Vintage Glenrothes 18 Year 1995 is a vintage-dated Speyside single malt for buyers who prefer independent bottlings with explicit cask and bottling details. Distilled in 1995 and bottled in 2013 from a first-fill sherry butt, it offers stronger collector interest than a standard distillery bottling of similar age.
From the Producer
Signatory Vintage was founded in Edinburgh in 1988 and is one of Scotland's best-known independent bottlers, later becoming owner of Edradour distillery in Pitlochry in 2002. Rather than distilling its own spirit for every release, Signatory sources single casks directly from working distilleries -- in this case Glenrothes, a Speyside distillery built in 1878 in the town of Rothes that has no visitor centre and releases very little whisky under its own name. Independent bottlings like this one are the main way drinkers encounter cask-specific Glenrothes whisky, and Signatory's label format -- distillery, cask type, fill and bottling dates, cask number -- gives the full paper trail that collectors of independent bottlings look for.

- Nose: Dried fruit, orange peel, sherry oak and polished malt sweetness.
- Palate: Layered and rounded, with cocoa, spice, dried fruit and Speyside malt depth.
- Finish: Long and dry, with sherry wood, baking spice and lingering fruit.
Best For
Independent-bottling collectors, sherried Speyside tastings, vintage Scotch gifting and buyers who want dated cask information on the label.
