About This Wine
A 1976 Beerenauslese from the Erbacher Marcobrunn, made by Domänenweingut Schloss Schönborn in the Rheingau. It pairs a long-famous Rheingau site with a vintage remembered for its sweet wines.
The Marcobrunn lies on the boundary between Erbach and Hattenheim, low on the slope near the Rhine, and is one of the Rheingau's top sites, giving rich, deep Riesling that ages well.
Tasting Profile
- Nose: Honey, dried apricot, marmalade, wax and mature petrol notes.
- Palate: Rich and sweet, with candied citrus, stone fruit and layered botrytis.
- Finish: Long, with honey, spice and a lift of mature acidity.

Drink it now with orange and almond cake or Fourme d'Ambert.
