Weingut Schloss Reinhartshausen has been part of Rheingau wine culture since 1337, making it one of the oldest wine estates in the world. Its vineyards lie in the officially classified sites of Erbach, Hattenheim and Kiedrich along the Rhine, with Riesling as the estate's defining grape. The winery has been a certified organic producer since 2021 and describes itself today as a family business. A Beerenauslese such as this one is made from grapes left on the vine until botrytis (noble rot) concentrates their sugar and flavour, producing the dessert wines for which the Rheingau's old estates are historically known.
