Russell's Reserve carries the name of Jimmy Russell, who joined Wild Turkey in Lawrenceburg, Kentucky in 1954 and is the longest-tenured master distiller in bourbon, and his son Eddie, who has worked beside him since 1981. The 10-year is the range's baseline: Wild Turkey's standard mash bill, a decade in new charred oak, bottled at 90 proof rather than the higher strength the Russells use for their small-batch work.
