Ruinart Blanc de Blancs is a non-vintage Brut made only from Chardonnay, the grape that defines the Reims house. It balances freshness with a rounded texture and suits most occasions.
About This Champagne
The wine is drawn from some 25 to 30 Chardonnay crus across the Côte des Blancs, the Montagne de Reims, the Sézannais and the Vallée de la Vesle. Grapes are picked by hand, fermented in stainless steel and taken through malolactic. Reserve wines make up 20 to 30% of the blend, and the wine spends two to three years in the cellars before release. Dosage is 7 g/L, at 12.5% ABV. The clear bottle shows off the pale colour but lets in light, so keep it in its case and out of the sun.
Tasting Profile
- Nose: Lemon and juicy pear first, then white blossom and a spicy thread of ginger.
- Palate: Fresh and rounded, ripe citrus and a little pineapple, with a fine persistent bead.
- Finish: Clean, gently saline and of good length.
Serving & Food
Chill to around 8°C and use a white-wine glass. Raw seafood is the natural match: hamachi sashimi, oysters with a squeeze of lime, or a ceviche. It also sits well with fresh goat's cheese. Drink within about two years of purchase.
How to Enjoy
An aperitif that suits almost any guest, and a reliable gift.

About the Maison
Ruinart was founded in Reims in 1729 by Nicolas Ruinart, acting on an idea of his uncle Dom Thierry Ruinart, and it is widely cited as the first established Champagne house. It passed to Moët & Chandon in 1963 and today sits within LVMH. Chardonnay runs through every Ruinart cuvée. After the death of long-serving cellar master Frédéric Panaïotis in 2025, Caroline Fiot, who trained under him from 2016, took over the cellar at the start of 2026.
