From the Producer
Port Ellen distilled its last spirit in 1983 after 158 years on the Islay shore, and the site's only surviving function was its maltings. Diageo's annual Special Releases drew down the remaining casks one year at a time, with each release older and smaller than the last. The 16th Release was bottled in 2016 from 1978 spirit, an outturn of 2,940 bottles worldwide.

- Nose: Sea breeze, iodine, lemon, peat smoke, wax, herbs and old oak
- Palate: Powerful and complex, with coastal smoke, citrus, mineral notes, spice and cask-strength depth
