Pappy Van Winkle's Family Reserve 20 Year sits near the top of the family range, named for Julian P. Van Winkle Sr. of Stitzel-Weller and selected by Julian III and Preston. The whiskey has been distilled and aged at Buffalo Trace in Frankfort since the family's 2002 joint venture, and the wheated mash bill is what lets it carry two decades of barrel time. It is bottled at 90.4 proof.
