Pappy Van Winkle's Family Reserve 15 Year is the mid-age bottling in the family lineup, named for Julian P. Van Winkle Sr. and selected by his descendants at Buffalo Trace, where the whiskey has been distilled and matured since the 2002 joint venture. The wheated mash bill gives it a softer frame than rye-recipe bourbon at the same proof, which here is 107. This is a Santa Edition presentation of that whiskey.
