Olivier Leflaive Montagny 1er Cru Bonneveaux 2020 is a white Burgundy Chardonnay from the Bonneveaux climat on the Montagny appellation in the Côte Chalonnaise. Sourced from sustainable growers on the limestone-marl slopes below the Montagny premiers crus, this is a polished Côte Chalonnaise bottling from the Leflaive family's négociant house.
About This Wine
Montagny sits at the southern end of the Côte Chalonnaise, with limestone-marl slopes that give the appellation its polished Chardonnay style. The Bonneveaux climat sits on the upper slopes of the appellation, on clay-limestone soils giving fresh, mineral whites. The 2020 vintage on the Côte Chalonnaise was warm and even, producing ripe, balanced Chardonnays. Grapes are gently pressed and fermented in barrel at the Leflaive cellars in Puligny with around 25 percent new oak before ageing on the lees.

About the Maison
Olivier Leflaive is the Puligny-Montrachet négociant house founded by Olivier Leflaive, whose family also runs Domaine Leflaive. The maison now buys and raises Chardonnay and Pinot Noir across the Côte de Beaune from sustainably farmed vineyards, with the wines pressed and fermented in the cellar on the village square at Puligny. The Les Meix vineyard beneath the Les Pucelles premier cru sits on silty, gravelly soils that give a mineral, elegant village bottling.
Olivier Leflaive sits on the village square at Puligny-Montrachet, the same appellation where the Leflaive family has farmed Domaine Leflaive since the early 20th century. Olivier founded the négociant house in 1984 to bring his winemaking to fruit he has not farmed himself; today the house buys sustainably grown grapes across the Côte de Beaune and raises them in Puligny. The Montagny 1er Cru Bonneveaux sits on the Côte Chalonnaise, climats of limestone-rich marl that produce the house's polished, mineral Chardonnay style.
