About This Bourbon
The Old Rip Van Winkle 23 Year decanter set: 23-year-old wheated bourbon distilled in 1986, bottled at 114 proof and presented in a Glencairn crystal decanter with two glasses in a wooden case.
Tasting Profile
- Nose: Deep oak, dark caramel and vanilla, with leather and dried cherry.
- Palate: Dense, with toffee, baked fruit, cinnamon and old wood.
- Finish: Very long, drying to oak and spice with a caramel edge.

About the Distillery
Julian "Pappy" Van Winkle Sr. opened Stitzel-Weller in 1935. After the family sold the distillery in 1972, his son Julian Jr. revived the Old Rip Van Winkle label, and Buffalo Trace has made the bourbon since 2002.
