Old Forester Birthday Bourbon 2013 is part of the distillery’s annual vintage-dated series and remains one of the most chased modern bourbon releases. The 2013 edition is bought mainly for limited allocation, mature oak and the appeal of Old Forester’s own yearly release programme.
From the Producer
Old Forester has released a Birthday Bourbon every year since 2002, made available through a national sweepstakes and drawn from a single day's production to commemorate George Garvin Brown's birthday on September 2. Old Forester was Brown's original 1870 brand and the first bourbon sold exclusively in sealed bottles, a practice that guarded against adulteration in an era when whiskey was often decanted from the barrel. Brown-Forman still produces Old Forester today using a mash bill of 72% corn, 18% rye and 10% malted barley.
Tasting Profile
